Salutations

I would like to introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Will.

You're probably wondering why someone would start a blog this way and I don't blame you. Try looking at this as you would everyday life. Almost any setting will do. What's usually the first thing you say when you meet someone? I doubt it would be "Hi, I like collecting Ren & Stimpy comics" or "Do you know anything about foot fungi?"

Nope. It your basic introduction. Then its followed up with a short conversation, which may or may not lead to Ren & Stimpy or foot fungi, and that pertains on what caused your introduction to take place. Ok, maybe that was an over simplistic look at introductions, but "Hi I'm (insert name)" is very effective.

I fear that some people are now saying "But, but, but this is a blog on the internet! Are you that naive?" To this I reply, "What's your point?" and "Maybe I am."

Ok, I'm rambling. Time to get serious, or as serious as one can get with sounds of Sponge Bob in the background.

Lets see, you know my name. Now you want to know what this blog is going to be about. Well, to start of with, its not about you or your thoughts. No, this is about me and mine. While there are some of you that may agree with me, you wont all the time. That's natural. The rest are going to disagree with whatever I write, no matter what. That's unnatural. Actually, it's counter productive on your part.

The reasons that I want to start blogging are many, but the main one is that I want to get my perspective out there. Running a close second is I'm actually tired of telling people "You know, I've said that" or "I saw that coming" without any real way to prove it. Well, maybe this could seen as proof. I think many bloggers start out the same way or for the same reasons. Just a hunch.

You will notice that the particular subject will change from post to post. I may write about politics on Monday, switch to national security on Tuesday, and end up on stoopid (intentional misspelling) crooks on Friday. I may even post excerpts from articles that I've read with my own 2 cents added. I might settle down and find my particular niche sometime in the future, but knowing myself, I doubt it.

Hmmm, are you saying to yourself "Blah, blah, blah, get on with it Will! I want to know if I'm going to be interested in what you have to say and whether I might agree with you or not." yet? Those that said "No" are either really nice or you have a lot of patience. Those that said with an emphatic "Yes!", you may want to learn the art of speed reading and scanning. Not all my posts are going to be drawn out like this. Why? Because I truly hate typing. To be perfectly honest, I hate trying to type my thoughts. I really want to find a "speech to text" program to make sure that I can capture most of what I want to say without fear of losing a particular nuance because of "searching" for what I was just thinking about.

Ok. Focus, Will, focus. The general vibe of these posts will come from my conservative mindset. I know, I know. The horror! Another conservative blogger! Well, guess what? I see a distinct bias in newspapers and television. The folks that just had "But FOX news!" pop in their tiny heads apparently don't see CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, and PBS as having any kind of bias. I know that FOX is biased, now you need to admit that the rest of the TV networks are too. Once you do that, you will be well on your way to recovery and becoming one of the educated.

You will also notice that I believe firmly in personal liberty and not government dependency. Being reliant on someone or government entity for your most basic of needs is not freedom. Its known as having dependency issues. You willingly give your freedoms for government hand outs. Look at the other end of that spectrum and some call it slavery.

Did that get your attention? I hope so.
